I asked Tom Schraeder, an amazing composer who wrote one of my favorite horror scores (The Dark and the Wicked) to compose the music for Eye Catcher. After I gave him the pitch, he agreed and I was thrilled. I was even more thrilled when I heard what he did with it. He has created an entirely unnerving musical experience that sounds “wrong” in all the right ways. And he has really taken the theme about hidden things to heart, creating a score like “audible camouflage.” The sonic landscape evokes anxiety by using a unique array of textures and frequencies, all while disguising piano/strings/autoharp motifs that shape shift… just like the creature hiding.
